Summary: Purgatory was an odd experience for Dean, not just because he was surprised to find out that Purgatory was an actual thing but because he wound up killing monsters and looking for his angelic best friend with said best friend’s former vessel. Getting out, it turns out, was the easy part. Between Cas’s disappearance, Jimmy’s identity crisis, Dean’s guilt, and Sam’s quest to shut the gates of Hell, they’ve all got more than enough to deal with, but of course nothing is ever that easy for the Winchesters. There’s the little matter of what remains unspoken between Dean and Castiel, and how it’s bound to change now that Jimmy’s bound to complicate it all.
And of course, Heaven and Hell aren’t just going to let them deal with it all in peace, either.
“My wrist. I’m pretty sure it’s broken. And probably a rib,” says Jimmy.
“Can’t you heal it?” Asks Dean.
Jimmy shudders, his stomach rolling as he looks at his wrist. “God, it’s turning purple.”
Dean hefts Jimmy up, letting his bum arm drape over Dean’s shoulder. “Come on man, let’s get you outta here.”
Sam is quiet and Jimmy winces as he sees the gears turning behind his eyes. “What did that demon mean when he said Cas left?”
“Obviously he didn’t. Come on man, help me out here!” Dean snaps.
“Cas’s bones don’t break,” Sam says.
“He said the place was warded, Sam. Leave it.”
Sam comes up on Jimmy’s other side, bracing him with his body weight. They shimmy and limp their way out of the warehouse, the boy and an older woman following behind. Sam grunts, his weight sitting odd on his right leg. He’s probably got a bruise at the very least, but Jimmy’s a little too preoccupied to think about that right now. He can’t feel his fingers and he’s starting to get tingles up to his shoulder. Dean gets the door to the Impala open and Dean and Sam dump him in the backseat.
“You good?” Dean asks through heavy breaths.
Jimmy shakes his head. There are tears in his eyes now, and he’s too afraid to speak. He’s fucked. Completely fucked. His wrist is broken and his secret is out and he’s crying and whimpering like a child in the backseat of Dean’s car.
“We need to go to a hospital,” Jimmy says.
“Cas -” Dean starts.
“I’m not Cas, Dean. Please, we need to go to the hospital.”
me: “man… i haven’t had as much to say lately, haven’t been making art as often… what if i’m finally losing interest? what if i don’t like them like i used to? what if-”
I’ve never given birth to a child but I feel like I’ve got this relationship to motherhood that’s like… a lot of the hardship and none of the credit. Like I taught my little brother how to drive and I just watched him drive away to take his driver’s test and I’m literally crying my eyes out in the lobby because I’m proud of him and I know he can do it but I’m also worried to have him go out without me for the first time. And all I can think is “that’s my little guy”. But I’m not his mother, even if I had a big part in raising him. And now he’s grown up and off to do big life things and no one is gonna ask me how hard that is. Because he isn’t *mine*.

This new bill has been introduced in both the house and the Senate.
Among other things, it will:
Raise the monthly disability income by just over 30 percent - bringing it to poverty level.
Remove penalties for recieving financial help from friends and family.
Increase the amount of assets a disabled person may have from $2,000 to $10,000 (this hasn’t been updated since 1989)
Update outside income restrictions to allow disabled people to receive up to $399 a month without reducing their benefits.
REWARD, not penalize, people who want to receive additional income while on social security income.

For those unaware current regulations do a lot to oppress disabled people. In fact marriage equality doesn’t even extend to disbled people who risk having their benefits reduced or outright taken away if they marry someone. This means that in common law states disabled people can’t even live with their significant other or they risk losing their financial independence.
Current regulations mean that if you’re disbled you can’t have so much as one penny over $2,000 to your name. So buying a car and gaining more independence or freedom is largely out of the question for disabled people.
Current regulations penalize social security recipients who receive income from outside sources, even if those sources are reimbursement. Did you get paid to babysit for a few hours? That’s income, and you get your benefits reduced. Did you loan a friend $10 and they pay you back? The government considers that $10 income, and you get your benefits reduced.
These aren’t mere anecdotes - these are all examples of actual things that have happened to disbled people I know, and if you have any disabled friends in your life I’m sure they can tell you the same stories.
If you value marriage equality, if you value financial independence, if you value the rights of disbled people, please PLEASE support this bill! Contact your reps, vote, and make noise! This is a great thing!

Everytime I watch The Great Mouse Detective I get the urge to write fanfic about anthropomorphic mice because those two totally fucked and it makes me nuts.
I’m opening commissions due to some unexpected home repairs needed, and some very expected medical expenses coming due.
Since hubby switched jobs, we just make our expenses each month. We’re fine with expenses like mortgage and utilities but these extra things we’re screwed. We tried several loans and can’t get approved because our credit profile is “too thin”. Seriously? It’s a BAD thing we’re not swimming in debt???
Anyway I don’t want to make this post too long. I’m hoping to earn an extra $2000 by the end of May the water system repairs and to finish paying off our eye care expenses.
Then I’m hoping to earn an additional $3000 through June and July, for the rest of everything.

Today while I was out amongst people, I heard a woman talk about how she was afraid of getting vaccinated b/c “the government” could “activate” it in 20 years and it would be “some resident evil shit”. And the way this woman was talking, she obviously wasn’t *actually* worried about literally becoming a zombie, but I have to wonder if there has been some feedback loop going on here. Like, the zombie media boom probably has something to do with our fear of disease and potential pandemics, plus anxiety about american healthcare systems. But that zombie and apocalypse media may have also spread the idea that getting medical treatment might be a bad idea, even if it was only a fringe fear a few people used to have.
